Most donation pages ask for money and tell you nothing. Move the slider below and DAAN converts your amount into the exact thing it buys — notebooks, a scholarship, a trained teacher — works out your 80G tax saving as you go, and shows you last year's audited accounts before you decide.
No vague promises about "supporting education". Every rupee here maps to a line item we actually purchase, at the price we actually pay, and your 80G saving is worked out while you type.
We need a PAN for the 80G receipt — that is an income tax requirement, not a marketing one. Nothing on this page is stored or sent anywhere; it is a demo.
This is what the real receipt looks like. In production it is emailed within 48 hours, reported to the income tax department in Form 10BD, and appears in your AIS at the end of the year.
Eighteen paise of every rupee does not reach a child — it pays field staff salaries, an audit, rent for a two-room office in Sigra and the bank charges on your own donation. We would rather print that than hide it.

Same firm since 2016, unqualified opinion every year. The trustees take no remuneration. Our highest-paid employee — the programme director — is on ₹7.8 lakh a year, which is printed in the annual report next to her name because donors are entitled to ask.
Each of these is a real situation from our 2026 intake list, with the family's permission and the names changed. A sponsorship covers fees, books, uniform, bus fare and one exam form — you get two progress reports a year and a letter in their own handwriting.
Written by the people who were there, not by a copywriter in a different city. Two of them did not go the way we planned.
Be honest about your hours. A volunteer who shows up twice and disappears costs us more than one who never came, because a child was told to expect them.
Eighty-two paise in the rupee, on last year's audited accounts. Eleven paise pays administration — salaries for the four field staff, the office in Sigra, the audit fee — and seven paise pays for fundraising, which includes the payment gateway charge on your own transaction. Any organisation claiming a hundred percent is either subsidised by a founder or not counting something.
Donations to DAAN qualify for a fifty percent deduction with no upper qualifying limit. So a ₹10,000 gift creates a ₹5,000 deduction; at the thirty percent slab that is about ₹1,560 off your tax including cess. The calculator above does this live. Cash donations above ₹2,000 do not qualify at all, which is why we only take bank transfers.
Within 48 hours by email, with your PAN on it. We also file Form 10BD with the income tax department every quarter, which is what makes the donation appear in your AIS. If the two do not match, tell us and we will refile — that is our error to fix, not yours.
Yes, and we would prefer it. We run visits on the second and fourth Saturday of every month, in Ramna and Chiraigaon blocks. Message the number below and someone will meet you at the school gate. We ask that you do not photograph children's faces without the headmaster's written permission.
No, and we will not pretend otherwise. Of the sponsorships we started in 2019, seventy-one percent are still in school today. Children move when a parent finds work elsewhere, families marry daughters early despite our efforts, and some children simply stop coming. When a sponsorship ends we tell the sponsor why and offer to move the money to another child rather than quietly reassign it.
Both. Our FCRA registration was renewed in 2024 and foreign contributions go into the designated SBI New Delhi Main Branch account required by law. We are CSR-1 registered, so a company can route its two percent obligation here; the CSR reporting pack we send back is the one your compliance team will ask for.
Give once, give monthly, sponsor a child by name, or come and teach on a Saturday. All four are useful and only one of them takes money.
